Birthday Boy

Despite all of us nearing our death beds, we still had to celebrate our little man cub turning two!
I can't believe he's two.  He's not a baby anymore.  It wasn't just that I felt like crap, I was so sad.  Once Logan had him all tucked into bed, I sat down and had a good cry.  I don't know why it bothers me so much, this birthday.  It's just official that he's not a baby anymore and I'm so sad to be out of the baby stage.  It's exciting watching him learn so many new things each day.  And I can taste the freedom!  We can do so many more things the older he gets.  But at the same time, it's so so so so sad.  Mama Bear is having a really hard time guys.
For his birthday Sophie decided on a bug party because he LOVES bugs right now.  He drags these dang plastic bugs everywhere and always goes for the bug pattern game.  He cooks me up plates of bugs and makes me pretend to eat them and I have caught him attempting to eat an actual beetle on occasion.  GAG.  He is my crazy-haired, snuggle bunny, fearless, bug-loving little man and I love him.  We played bugs, balloons and chase all day.
We made him his favorite turkey sandwich and orange chips.  We topped it off with bugs on a log and he was so excited. When we picked Sophie up from school the party really got started.  After a rousing game of chase and balloon toss, the cubs had worm-filled dirt cups for snack.
T-man was freaking out!  He was kind enough to continuously try and share with me, despite my constant polite declining.  The lady cubs decided to get really into it and pretend their worms were actually covered in mud.
After playing rockstar and tea-party with Claire Bear, it was dinner time.  We made T-man his favorite food, BREAKFAST!  He had catterpillar pancakes, berries and sausage.  He was one happy little camper.  In fact he was furious with me for taking a picture and not handing him his plate.
Then it was present time.  T-man finally got his Christmas present.  We couldn't fit it in the car down to Utah, so we saved it for him.  He was ecstatic over his new firetruck!
The poor cub can't ever play with his sisters in the driveway because he can't reach the pedals on his trike.  Now he can play too!  He was in absolute heaven and he insisted that his sisters play with him.  Lucky for him they were happy enough to pile on and take turns pushing him around.  He did not stop smiling!
Lucky for him Grandma Bohman made the day that much sweeter with this awesome tractor.  He LOVES animals!  And this is a very special treasure from Great Grandma Bohman.  She brought it back from her mission in Jamaica.  He was enthralled by this toy.
Sophie bought T-man his most favorite snack.  Fruit snacks!  It was too cute when he opened it up.  He yelled, "SNACKS!" and the very first thing he did was make sure everyone had a package.  He handed one out to each of us and told us to eat.
It was so very sweet.  He's the sweetest boy.  I adore him.  He is my masterpiece.  I love being his mom.
Then it was cake time!
Sophie insisted that he have a bug cake and bug cupcakes.  Claire actually calls him TayBug.  That's her nickname for him.  So we made some bugs out of MandM's and TayBug was freaking out.  We plopped them on top of this cake that the girls designed and Taylor was in bug heaven.  He was so excited!  He sat down at the table and started singing to himself.  He was just so eager for the birthday song.  He was so bemused by the whole thing.
Then he reached right up and snatched his candles out again.  This time we caught him before he burned himself and he blew them right out (if you recall, he put his own first birthday candle out with his fingers).  He was very proud.  Then he ate one bug and jumped right down to play more with his truck.  He didn't even want any cake! Silly boy.  We all adore this kid so much.  He is the highlight of my morning, noon and night (and the middle of my nights).  I can't get enough of him and I'm so glad he completes us.
In the morning they all raced for the truck and spent hours like this.
I love my little clan!

Taylor's 2 Year Old Favorites:
Favorite Color:  Blue (though if pink is an option, he'll steal that before his sisters can)
Favorite Animal: Dogs (though he's obsessed with all animals and sounds right now)
Favorite TV Show: Wild Kratts
Favorite Movie: Finding Nemo (he calls it the Turtle Show)
Favorite Acitivity at home: Bath time
Favorite Toy: the kitchen set and mircrophone
Favorite Food: Snacks! (he loves fruit snacks and he can climb in the pantry to get them)
Favorite Song: 5 Green and Speckled Frogs

Halloween Stuff

 Monster Cupcakes are a must.
We had Halloween Play School at our house.
All the little ladies came dressed up to learn about Halloween.
They learned all about spiders.  They drew spiders on paddles and played balloon paddle ball.
The littlest cupcake didn't love getting trampled very much.
They had a spider crawl race after learning that spiders have 8 legs.
They girls also made lollipop ghosts and rice crispy treat ghosts, practiced tricks for trick-or-treating, they did measuring with candy corn, and made tear art candy corn.  It was a busy day!
We went with some friends to take the little ladies for a free scary face pancake at iHop.  Bunch was in heaven!  I on the other hand ended up with food poisoning.  Not heavenly.  Never again.
Bunch had a special Halloween ballet class.  The girls were ADORABLE in their costumes.
And these two little cupcakes melt my heart.

Lil' Bit turns 1!

I don't know where the time went, but it went and it went fast.  I blinked and my cute little cupcake turned 1 year old!
We had a little birthday party for her with Grandma and Grandpa and Great Grandma Bohman.  We made Claire her most favorite dinner to celebrate: salmon, rice, asparagus, and rolls.
She was a happy little cub munching away and showing off how old she turned.
After dinner she got to open her presents.  It was hard work getting her to open them though; she preferred to simply run around with them!  Sophie had to show her how it was done.
Claire got some cute new clothes from Grandma and Grandpa, a pink tu-tu from Sophie (of course), a book about The Wheels on the Bus (her all time favorite song), a bag of blocks, and a giant Mr. Potato Head bucket.  The blocks and the potato head are hands down the best purchase I have EVER made in my life.  The cubs have played together like this for hours and hours all week long.
After presents, Claire got her first frosting induced sugar rush!  I had too much fun making her first tiny cake and matching cupcakes.  I think it turned out as sweet and cute as Clara is!
These little cupcakes couldn't keep their hands off for a picture, they were too excited!
Claire was a little overwhelmed at first.
Bunch graciously helped with the candle and made a wish for Claire to 'get some candy.'
Then she also had to show Claire what to do because Claire wasn't interested and that just wasn't going to fly with Sophie - a true cupcake connoisseur at just 3 years old.
So Bunch took Claire's little fist, shoved it in the cake and then licked poor Claire's hand clean!
Yeah, Claire wasn't too thrilled about that either, but it worked...
She grabbed a little bit of cake but was confused when it wouldn't shake off.
So she picked at it a little bit and then...
 PURE HAPPINESS!
Happy Birthday sweet girl!  You make us so blasted happy.  We love you!
